ABSTRACT

This chapter gives a reflexive methodological account of Reflective Practice Poetry Groups (RPPGs) as location for clergy Reflective Practice, and as the site for qualitative practitioner research of pedagogical practice using poetry in clergy CME. It describes participant responses to particular poems (R. S. Thomas, Benjamin Zephaniah, Manon Ceridwen James, Anne Stevenson, Thomas Hardy) showing how a single poem generating a range of different participant reflections on practice, yielding fresh insight for participant and facilitator and transforming practice. In addition, there are methodological reflections on facilitating RPPGs and practical guidelines for group leaders.
