ABSTRACT
Human trafficking and exploitation of people are hidden activities and exist on a continuum of severity. Often, this complex issue is misrepresented and sensationalized in the media. Human trafficking is difficult to define and observe, complicating effective actions for prevention, discovery, and protection of victims. The role of education in preventing human trafficking is important, yet effective implementation of NGO programs targeting at-risk children and human trafficking victims is just beginning to be explored.
