ABSTRACT

Thirty years on in the entertainment business, Prince would produce his second book, 21 Nights, released almost a year after a sell out stint at the O2 Arena in London. Documenting scenes from the performances, the glossy photo shots also included personal memoirs taken between 2am and 8am each morning. Never before had an artist played 21 sell out concerts to a stadium housing 16,000 spectators; the engagement earned 2007’s highest grossing concert revenue. By the time 21 Nights was published, Prince had turned 50 and held a position as one of the United states’ all-time pop legends. Attending the concerts, we were enthralled and decided to write this book jointly, with no regrets.
