ABSTRACT
Project planning and control is a predominant and critical issue in project management. Project planning and control embraces a number of functions, such as generating a network of actions that depicts the relationship between these actions and their order of occurrence. Project planning consists of a number of steps that should be conducted with great care. The project scope review document will provide an adequate initial input for identifying the project components. The work breakdown structure (WBS) will enable the project team to acquire a real grasp of the project. The direct costs are normally linked with activities, whereas indirect costs are often assessed and allocated for the project as a whole and behave in a linear manner over the entire project time. The project manager has received instructions from the client to shorten the project completion time by one day. A proper planning and control mechanism allows those involved in the project to fully understand what is required.
