ABSTRACT

This chapter provides guidance about defining the employee development training programmes that would benefit both the organization and its employees. Project competency development facilitates the ability of employees to become more efficient and flexible in carrying out their respective functions. Establish a successful employee development training programme an organization must focus on creating the proper environment by fostering a sense of commitment, motivation and trust in the workplace. It is therefore important for an organization to identify and define its business product and service lines by having a comprehensive business strategy. The critical success factors (CSF) itemize requirements that are essential and are required to be in place to ensure the successful provision of the products and services that are made available by the organization. The employee development training programme will consist of three elements, the competencies to be developed, the employees who are to be the recipients of the competency development and the time schedule for the competency development.
