ABSTRACT

The essence of the Spandan (Heartbeat) Approach based upon faith in the basic goodness of others and belief in the innate divinity and intrinsic altruism of human beings, all three values together postulated as the bedrock of human existence and growth. Spandan has been working, through workshops and interactive sessions, to identify human values specific to efficiency as indicative of results and material comforts and employee satisfaction as indicative of relations and happiness. Transactional Human Values are related to the translation of these Transformational Human Values into appropriate actionable behaviour in the context of a human being's interactions with others in his or her personal, professional, group, organizational and societal roles. Adherence to transformational values results in the remaking of ourselves as human beings, while adherence to transactional values enables human beings to remake the organization, enterprises or institutions and the society of which they are members.
