ABSTRACT

The Spandan Approach rests on belief in the innate divinity, intrinsic altruism and basic goodness of human beings. The Spandan 3D Process aims at translating this belief into a reality in work situations. The process consists of developing a vision and mission statement for the organization and inculcating suitable human values in the work ethic through diagnosis, discovery and development. A response sheet was prepared and forwarded to around 200 select eminent persons from different walks of life involved in the propagation and inculcation of human values at one or more of the three levels. Each respondent was asked to assess adherence to the 31 human values included in the spectrum at the levels of their own professional life, their own organization, and Indian industry as a whole. Based on the responses, an effort was made to identify the human values perceived as important and their adherence at the three levels mentioned.
