ABSTRACT

As in the previous two chapters, the detailed analysis of feed-in tariff design options for system and market integration will serve to disclose national policy similarities. We want to understand the causes of increasing policy similarities of feed-in tariffs – despite the failure of harmonisation. The extended timeframe of the analysis of more than two decades allows us to determine whether feed-in tariffs have become more similar over time and, if so, which factors have been responsible for this. Therefore, we can test our hypotheses as presented in section 2.3. Preliminary results are presented after the analysis of each design options. A summary of these conclusions is provided in chapters 8.
