The future of shopping is actually a combination of technology and experience, of Internet and store-based shops. A lot will depend on the technological developments, but societal, social and economic developments will also be definitive for the future of shopping. With convenience goods, the technology will be used to make the grocery shopping more efficient, with shopping goods it will be used to encourage the purchase of items and to promote the purchase of more articles. The changes that arise from the combination of technology and shopping 3.0 also enables new business models. Buying via the Internet will also change, because technology makes more possible and because customers acquire more and more experience in using the Internet as a shopping medium. Shopping via the Internet has advantages and disadvantages and web-shops will have to adapt on the basis of customer experiences and the different customer behaviour.
