ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. Nearly every company in the world outsources. From someone cleaning the windows in the office to an oil company getting a supplier to provide seismic surveys, provide the drilling equipment and test the well and reservoir, there is nearly always some degree of supplier reliance. Look at outsourcing in light of our overall business strategy. Single sourcing, multi sourcing, joint venture, offshoring, whatever choosed, should be comfortable that it is in line with our strategy and that we are prepared to put in the effort and the resources in order to make it work. Approach outsourcing with a framework in place such as the National Outsourcing Association Life Cycle. The client side governance can be overdone, leading to a mirror organisation.
