If the people are accustomed to working for a new economy business such as an information technology (IT) or finance company, the culture and business model of the large IT services companies, particularly consultancies, may be unusual to the people. A lawyer, a doctor and a management consultant were discussing the relative merits of having a wife or a mistress. Most management consultancies and systems integrators are very asset light. As with knowledge capital, reputation and trustworthiness is difficult to quantify, but it is absolutely essential to the global IT services company's ability to continue to win work successfully. When the leaders of the large organisations meet, it is often the corporate social responsibility topic that dominates the conversation and the thing for which the leadership is most proud. The client gets access to a new revenue stream at no risk and the large IT services company gets to leverage the client's customer base and revenue stream.
