ABSTRACT

ISO/IEC 15288, Systems and software engineering System life cycle processes, describes the stages and processes included in the life cycle of systems. The Concept Stage is launched as a result of the decision to proceed with a system solution to implement an identified capability need and ends with the requirements specification for this system solution. The Development Stage is to progress the system configuration design in compliance with procurement requirements and in accordance with established practices for producibility, testability, usability, supportability and safe disposal. The Production Stage is to manufacture/fabricate system components, execute system tests and prepare the tools required for production support. The Utilization Stage is to operate system elements in accordance with the established operational procedures, in an appropriate and effective way. The Support Stage, which is concurrent with the Utilization Stage, is to ensure that the system can be correctly operated by means of appropriate logistics, maintenance and support services.
