ABSTRACT

Multimedia' is a term that is used to describe a communication tool which uses a combination of different content forms. The added word 'multi' is used in contrast to the simple use of the word 'media' which is normally associated only with the use of traditional forms of printed or hand-produced material. When deciding to use multimedia self-training delivered over the Internet, one has to be aware that it cannot provide the same depth of discussion and exchange of ideas as a classroom workshop. Multimedia is an attractive option for extending coverage throughout the organization, and can be extremely effective when used as part of a consistent and cohesive integrity programme. Voice can be used as part of the multimedia experience, using professional actors or internal celebrities from the ranks of management. Human motivations and the social engineering techniques a fraudster might use to deceive or coerce other persons into cooperation are not easily communicated as a list of facts.
