… it is not the fault of the system that the Army hospitals are so full as they are. Fifty per cent of the cases would not be there if soldiers would manfully determine not to allow themselves to be led into excesses of ANY KIND. They would be better men physically and morally. The vicious man is never an athlete, and conversely the athlete is always a well conducted man.
