ABSTRACT

The European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products(EMEA) became operational in January 1995, located in London. It is based on an independent scientific evaluation to protect both the consumer and the industry. European Environment Agency was set up in Copenhage in 1994 to deliver high-quality environmental information to member states and to the general public. The European Training Foundation started work in Turin in January 1995. It coordinates and supports all EU activities in the field of post-compulsory education. European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training contributes to the development of vocational training in Europe through its academic and technical activities. European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction provides objective, reliable and comparable information at European level concerning drugs, drug addiction and their consequences. Plant breeders may ask for protection throughout the EU by a single application to the Community Plant Variety Rights Office.
