ABSTRACT

A critical part of compositing is the ability to combine different source materials into a single renderable output. Fort example, you might combine a 3D render, a QuickTime video of stock footage, and a video image sequence into a single composite. In Fusion, the Merge tool provides the main means of achieving this task. In order to recombine multiple 3D render passes, you can use a series of Merge tools. You can use Merge tools to add depth-of-field blurriness, atmospheric fog, and motion blur as part of the composite. This chapter includes the following critical information:

Combining two inputs with a Merge or Dissolve tool

Chaining together multiple Merge tools

Recombining render passes in Fusion

Adjusting Apply Modes and Merge transforms

Adding depth-of-field, fog, and motion blur with render passes
