ABSTRACT
This selection of photographs is taken from Taunt's work outside Oxford and his home counties. His travelling was mostly confined to the south of England and includes Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Hampshire and Cornwall. Unlike Francis Frith and Samuel Bourne, Henry Taunt was not of a globe-trotting nature. Most of his photographs derive from an intimate and personal look at the familiar English countryside.
