ABSTRACT

X WHATARE ENDINGS ? Endings are integral threads woven throughout the counseling process. Session-by-session, helping professionals are tasked with timekeeping, fi nding a natural or useful stopping point, and somehow summarizing how time was spent in a meaningful way. Clients or counselors may transfer, relocate, or graduate from services at any given time. Initial intake sessions may even include a discussion of limits to the number of sessions, introducing an ending before counseling has truly begun.
