ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the offenses of disorderly conduct, vagrancy, and loitering are discussed. Crimes of drunkenness and drug use/possession/sale can be considered as crimes against public morals and, as such, could have been presented in Chapter 9; however, they can also be considered crimes against the public peace and, so, are presented in this chapter. Counterterrorism laws are more commonly thought of as being federal, but states also have laws directed toward terroristic activities as well as riot and associated other crimes against the public peace. These crimes will also be covered in this chapter.
