ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on a helpful tool for easing the path forward, one that can frame many conversations on food and agriculture across a wide array of players. To truly appreciate a diversity of perspectives, we might need to think about how we can incentivize the facilitation of better understanding and communications around agriculture. The field of food and agriculture is uniquely challenging in this regard not only because the field itself is complex, but because there are complex moral dilemmas involved in many of the issues - and we live in a time of polarized politics. There is a small percentage of people who will never open themselves up to a diversity of perspective. However, this is by far the minority - and they should not be allowed to dictate the course of our dialogues or dissuade us from communications efforts.
