ABSTRACT

There are entire books dedicated to the art of interviewing, and a lot of them are very good. It goes without saying that if one is to be a successful entertainment journalist, it is highly likely that he/she will be required to do interviews. The advancement in technology, platforms and speed of reporting means it is imperative that any journalist has more than the ability to write a feature to a deadline; an understanding of how to use social media as a tool and how to operate a camera to film interviews, as well as editing those rushes, are the skills which are all but expected today. A journalist now must be able to supply a story which can run across multiple platforms and ensure they land on each platform in a way that is tailored to make as large an impact as possible.
