ABSTRACT
There are lots of young writers who want to be reviewers. There are, I believe, lots of reasons for this, and most of them aren’t good. The misconception that it’s easy, that it involves little other than espousing your opinion, which you are convinced that everyone wants to hear. The fact that you get to go to gigs and movies and get records and meals for free (okay, this is definitely one of the perks).
