ABSTRACT
Among the things we assess aesthetically, works of literature have a special interest for philosophers. The philosopher is by occupation a dweller among books; he makes, from his own standpoint, a study of language; and there are several philosophical problems connected with literature which do not arise, at least in the same way, over other works of art. For these reasons it is convenient to devote a separate discussion to literature.
