ABSTRACT
How does Marx’s theory look now? It would be surprising if all of Marx’s views on human nature and ethics were totally plausible today. I will suggest a revision that fits with sociological writing in practice. Critics see the sociological view as too optimistic. Where is aggression as a basic desire? Another controversial issue is how to conceive of our ethical relationships to other species.
