ABSTRACT
This chapter concludes the book by elaborating on a sociology of the human rights city. It reads some core findings of the empirical chapters of the book through the concepts, theories and debates raised in Chapter 1. The first part discusses the co-production of human rights in cities, the human rights city emerging fully here as a process defined by the competition and collaboration between different stakeholders, with an emphasis on the institutionalisation of human rights within the municipality and tensions emerging therein between justice and government. The second part examines more closely the meaning of human rights in cities. The third and final part elaborates more on the place of the law in human rights cities, from its participation in the processes of institutionalisation and implementation of human rights, tohow the law stabilises, enables and constrains these processes.
