ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses that, the China's increasing need for energy resources and raw materials to fuel its expanding economy led to trade agreements around the globe, boosting the perception of China among many nations as a country willing to take risks abroad and, in the process, assist the world's poorer nation-states. As it has shown, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) -led government faced enormous challenges in its early years, and Maoist leaders failed to resolve serious issues within the Party's leadership or to provide stable economic development. China's real challenge for the future may lie with new forces that emerged in the Reform Era. One of the forces at work is China's engagement in international trade. The new reality is that China has become inextricably tied to the global economy and international market forces.
