ABSTRACT

The Chinese civilization is the only civilization in the world that has an unbroken history of development. It is ancient, and it is also modern. Ancient human civilizations were precursors of today's civilizations, but the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, or India were all afflicted and disrupted by wars, and finally exterminated by the invasion of foreign nations. The rupture of these civilizations is one of the tragedies of human existence, and is an inevitable misfortune. It was precisely because of its own powerfulness that Chinese civilization was able to withstand the assaults and invasions by so many foreign elements even with their gunships and airplanes. The history of China is a history of constant internal merging and fusing; and every member of the Chinese nation of whatever ethnicity, has made his own contribution to the whole of Chinese civilization. In Chinese history, the central government, presiding over the unification of many ethnic groups, was the main force of nation.
