ABSTRACT
Canada is perhaps the greatest living proof that a special Providence watches over the destinies of the British Empire. Without Canada there would be constant and growing rivalries between England and America both on the Atlantic and the Pacific: with Canada there is more than a reasonable chance that unity of action will not only be achieved by the English-speaking peoples, but that this unity will be the dominating feature in world-politics.
