ABSTRACT
As this book is concerned with the stimulus transformations that occur along the visual pathway, discussion of the motor image will be restricted to the commands involved in eye movement specification. In order to investigate the signals used to control eye movements one has to be able to calculate the rotation of the eye that follows a given input to the eye muscles This chapter introduces the linear system approach to the calculation of the responses of mechanical systems.
