ABSTRACT

Healing is an overarching goal that occurs in different buildings types. Healing occurs in homes, hospitals, and even elderly care facilities. As such, adaptive architecture would be quite beneficial because it can adapt to its individual patient and the specific requirements needed to recover from their particular ailment. Adaptive design not only helps patients to heal while in the hospital, but also keeps people out of the hospital. Any lifestyle changes that need to take place as a result of an illness can occur with the help of adaptive architecture. Adaptive design can maintain a healthy environment, no matter what the building type, for it can proactively foster a variety of functions–including productivity. Adaptive architecture can actually help a business to flourish. In addition to helping with employee motivation, stress, and focus, it can also help with organization and workflow. The design of a classroom can make a big difference in the learning process.
