ABSTRACT
Externally, United States provided its security umbrella to these militarily weak regional allies and Saudi Arabia occupied the focus in the regional security dynamics of the US. It is also responsible for supervising works related to nuclear energy and radioactive waste projects. Saudi Arabia is hedging its bets, seeking to forge partnerships with China, India, Europe, Russia and regional powers such as Egypt, Sudan, Pakistan and Turkey. It is believed that Pakistan cannot resist the Saudi call for military help for long, Pakistan has its own limitations, including domestic, as regards sending troops to Yemen on Saudi Arabia's call as of now. Ever since the mass movement for political change started in the Arab world, the US and Saudi Arabia are more often found on different pages, particularly in terms of strategy and the end results. Saudi Arabia may no longer be the preferred strategic choice in the region: several regional players have become vital in the current century.
