ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on concepts discussed in this book. This book defines education broadly to include various programs, activities, events, and experiences designed by Black congregations to socialize youth holistically. Black Church culture has been described earlier as a space where culture and ecology intersect for consideration. As expected, BCYC is correlated with Black Church culture, minimally because they stem from the same Christian collective and common religious tradition. The book explores that Black Church youth culture is apparent in Black congregations that are village-minded in their approach to youth program development. It also indicates that the presence of Black Church youth culture as a marker of more holistic youth efforts. Some megachurches may actually have micro-programs for youth. Media-Savvy Leaders are knowledgeable and able to use social media to communicate with youth. Contemporary forms of communication are welcome and encouraged. Like adults, youth are constituents of today's religious market too.
