ABSTRACT

There is broad agreement that we live in an era of rapid change. It has been said that the most resilient people are those who can adapt to change. Predictions about future occupations suggest that many of the jobs that will exist when today’s kindergarten children graduate have not yet been invented, let alone imagined. This is one of the justifications offered for education to shift towards a competency focus over the current content focus. Otherwise students will be learning information that may be obsolete by the time they are entering the workforce.
