ABSTRACT

Many present convincing justification for fostering skills such as creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while others stress the need for greater attention to health and well-being through health promoting schools (HPS). There has been a long-standing effort to integrate sustainability into formal education as well as ensuring that sustainability features prominently in ongoing education development. Robinson and Aronica outline myth that "creativity is about special activities", such as the arts or design. There are numerous compelling reasons to shift formal education towards a culture of creativity and innovation. Robinson and Aronica are convinced that finding our element is essential for individual well-being and also for our collective ability to thrive. For example, a high school teacher identified nutrition education as a topic that was ripe for a more creative approach. The chapter presents the path-breaking work on leader character along with fresh ideas for applying leader character to sustainable happiness.
