ABSTRACT

A few days ago, Ismael—the farmer I met a few weeks ago who has been denied access to his olive trees because they are on land claimed (though not yet inhabited) by Ariel settlers—finally got permission to finish harvesting before his crop is ruined by the rainy season. Today, Ismael asked us to help his family pick olives, both as protection from possible attacks from settlers or the Army, and as labor desperately needed to make up for lost time.
