ABSTRACT
It is relatively easy to depict political oppression in film when it involves such things as torture or political imprisonment. A much more difficult task is to portray more subtle forms of oppression, including limitations on freedom of thought, conscience, and religion and the lack of a free press. In its own unique way, V for Vendetta does all this.
