ABSTRACT

S Ociologies, Whatever Else They are, are basically what people say when they must say something in the face of social crisis. Sociologies, notably academic ones, are sometimes said in times and places not at the moment in crisis. But, even then, their reason for being is some or another crisis not too far off in time or space. From within the comforts of an academic Sociology, it is all too normal to underestimate the tie that binds sociologies to social crises.
