The author played piano until the author kids showed up and Gregory and he had second helpings as their kids wolfed down the secret recipe treasures of Daddy Bruce's grease-filled ecstasy barbecued chicken and ribs dinner. Those of them still here will miss Allen as they have missed Jack and so many others, but they honor the collective spirit through their work. As the twentieth century tottered to a close amid reports of impending catastrophes due to global computer crashes, which fortunately never occurred, lists were made up of some of the twentieth-century BC achievements. The year 2001 became a banner year for Jack's legacy. With the sale of his scroll for On the Road, the completion of his archives finally being placed with the New York Public Library, the author realized that those of us left who knew Jack and worked with him had an obligation to honor his memory.
