ABSTRACT
According to Karl Marx, revolutionary and productive capitalism is the most technologically innovative system in world history. It destroyed the tyranny and the rural idiocy of feudalism. The "There Is No Alternative" (TINA) (to capitalism) factor has risen among the US people and captured their minds. While it is not preventing the rise of alter-capitalism and post-capitalist movements, it is blinding the people to its reality and hope. TINA represents an epidemic of false consciousness. TINA is a religion, a dogma. It is crushing people's ability to imagine a sustainable future. Capitalists are owning Fox News and the rest of the mass media, the universities, and the punditry. They preach TINA to the workers and the world. Daniel Bell, the famous Harvard sociologist, helped start the current TINA craze. However, pets such as Allen Ginsberg look at capitalism as lunacy.
