ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a talk between the author and the Karl Marx's ghost. The author began to ask the ghost questions, he was already struck by how much he seemed aware of today's political events and crises. The chapter discusses the Karl Marx's reference to child poverty, seems to jolt some personal memories, and the ghost responded emotionally. Many of those who ignore him today think he simply invented his theories out of thin air. He discovered the great laws of the capitalist system through his years of historical and economic research. But his family and he also experienced poverty. And he personally saw the desperation of the British working class as capitalism took root. He walked past homeless beggars in London on his way to the British Museum where he wrote. He lived pretty close to where Charles Dickens lived. He knew firsthand about all the poverty that Charles made famous in his novels.
