ABSTRACT

My “Theses on Teaching Marx,” which are more like instructions for a syllabus, are offered in this form because I hope that we can share specific pedagogical resources as well as discuss general thoughts on teaching Marx and Marxism. The context for such a syllabus is teaching Marx in departments of sociology, where he is a recognized founding father, unlike in literature programs, and where certain basic principles of Marxism are commonplaces taught in and as Sociology 101.
