ABSTRACT

I want to talk to you today from somewhere between the head and heart (and maybe the stomach, too) because they say that in times of war and peace, home is usually where women are, and that home is where the heart is. I’d like to suggest to you that what’s at stake in the Gulf War is where and how we live at home. And, I want to ask you to think about three questions. These questions are: One, what is the relationship between war machines and washing machines? Two, where does war take place? And, three, how can we fight for a better home?
