ABSTRACT
I’m honored to have been asked to participate in this event for Angela Davis and to share, however briefly and inadequately, a few words as a token of my appreciation for her enormous contributions as scholar, educator, and activist to the struggle for social justice and freedom. I’m also happy to be back at Arizona State University where some very dear friends and colleagues work—Peg Bortner, Kathleen Ferraro, Carol Lujan, Anne Schneider—who also have been intimately involved in this struggle.
