ABSTRACT

Poor-quality work normally does not qualify as unethical. Cheating and plagiarism qualify, because they are dishonest. However, when students routinely do not pay diligent attention to their schoolwork and exhibit poor workmanship, it is fair to judge them. For teachers, this can elicit an inner cry of despair that often results in railing that threatens students with dire consequences. We can reasonably say this kind of workmanship reflects the lack of a work ethic.
