ABSTRACT

The Psychology of the Kitāb is of the utmost importance for Abū’l-Barakāt’s philosophy. Not only is his unique handling of the subject matter novel and important, but moreover, Abū’l-Barakāt places emphasis upon the science of psychology as being of primary importance for philosophy, concerning which, he remarks, “Thus the most important of these thoughts and sciences is the science of the soul.”1
