ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 reviews scholarship development and expectations or requirements of landscape performance assessment by the Landscape Architecture Foundation (LAF), Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA), Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board (LAAB), Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Board (CLARB), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), and American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). The chapter also introduces ongoing research activities in China, as well as other select undertakings on this topic in North America.
