ABSTRACT
No matter from which direction we started, our analysis always led us to the realization — whether stated or not — that economic development ultimately depends on nothing but the qualitative transformation of concrete activity. The constant of progress α is, after all, nothing but a yardstick that measures the transformation currently occurring in concrete activity by the rise in labor productivity.
