ABSTRACT
This chapter deal with measuring safety performance. It begins with a discussion of how measuring is dealt with in the major HSMSs, and then describes the various measures that can be used to assess health and safety performance and the nature of the data types that might be available. However, since the best measures of health and safety performance are those that can be quantified, much of the chapter is devoted to numbers and how they can be used.
