ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concept covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses nursing solidarity, organizing for action and resistance. It also discusses how the rise of the Internet and social media have provided an arena and opportunity for nurses to organize, support each other and build networks. Being a student nurse is not a position that holds a great deal of power either in the National Health Service (NHS) or within the profession itself, but today, no student, nor registered nurse, need be alone and unconnected. In the UK there are many campaigning groups and intelligent Internet interventions by nurses commenting on NHS policy and seeking change. The book suggests that getting together and getting informed are the first steps in developing critical resilience.
