ABSTRACT

Russian Revolution is the collective term for a pair of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which dismantled the Tsarist autocracy and led to the eventual rise of the Soviet Union. On the morning of October 24th, and November 6th, the War-Revolutionary Committee of the Petrograd Soviet, which was, in effect, the Bolshevik General Staff, became aware of the steps taken overnight by the Provisional Government. As per agreement made in Kronstadt in July 1917, between members of our general staff and the leaders of the Russian revolutionary army and democracy, Messrs. Lenin, Trotsky, Raskolnikov, and Dibenko, the Russian branch of our general staff in Finland commandeered officers to Petersburg for the formation of the intelligence branch of the staff. From to-day a new phase in the history of Russia begins, and this third Russian Revolution, as a final result, is to bring the victory of socialism.
